This photo of Pat Simpson was taken in the 1940’s at Loch Lono in Cave Springs. The abundance of water in Cave Springs has always been a major draw to the small town, especially during the summertime when people were looking to escape the heat. At the time, Loch Lono was a swimming lake, and the dam that Pat is sitting on had ladders and diving platforms attached.

Pat tells us that visitors to Loch Lono would pay her a dime to climb to the top of a tower on the dam and jump off into the lake below.  What a hoot!
