This brief excerpt from History of Benton County Arkansas, Volume 1, describes the origins of the Benton County 4-H Club and a couple of trips they took to the Illinois River and Lake Wedington. Today, the Benton County 4-H Clubs are actively involved in the Illinois River Watershed Partnership’s volunteer events, and members continue to enjoy trips to the Illinois River.
This photograph was taken in the summer of 2012 when the IRWP and the Cave Springs 4-H Club floated from Fisher Ford Bridge to the Hwy. 59 bridge on the Illinois River.
