The Illinois River Watershed Partnership’s Clean Water Raingers Program is nearing two milestones.  Just about five years ago, the idea of the Clean Water Raingers program became a reality when we created our first songbook, CD of our songs, and a slideshow for the program.

On March 12, 2010, we performed our first official Clean Water Raingers concerts at Gentry Primary School and Gentry Intermediate School, and received a very enthusiastic response from the students and teachers of those schools.

The program has come a long way since then and we look forward to many more years of performing the program at elementary schools in our watershed.

The next milestone we are getting ready to celebrate is……

You might be asking yourself right now, 30,000 of what?

Well, we are Oh…So…Close… The Clean Water Raingers Program has been performed for 29,922 students, teachers and others, and our target is 30,000 by the end of this year.

Can we do it?  We are sure going to try.  You can find out by reading the Clean Water Raingers blog in January.

But in the meantime, I want you to go outside and enjoy this beautiful autumn weather in the Illinois River Watershed or wherever you are.  Just head outdoors and have fun!

And, as Captain Marshall always says, “see you down the dusty trail…Adios for now!”
